In Bait (2012), director Kimble Rendall delivers a nail-biting disaster horror film that fuses survival suspense with shark-infested terror. Set in the aftermath of a freak tsunami, this thrilling movie turns an ordinary supermarket into a watery nightmare, where survival is not guaranteed.
The Story: Trapped, Terrified, and Hunted
A peaceful day at a coastal Australian town takes a deadly turn when a massive tsunami crashes ashore, submerging an underground supermarket and trapping a group of survivors inside. As they struggle to find a way out, they soon realize that rising waters aren’t their only problem—two deadly great white sharks have been swept into the building, turning the flooded aisles into a hunting ground.
Among the survivors is Josh (Xavier Samuel), a former lifeguard haunted by past trauma, who must overcome his fears to lead the group to safety. Alongside him is his ex-girlfriend Tina (Sharni Vinson), a couple of criminals caught mid-heist, and an assortment of locals—all with their own secrets, tensions, and fears. With time running out, they must work together to outsmart the relentless predators and escape before the structure collapses.
